Taiwan is one of those countries that, in recent years, has begun to attract a lot of popularity among travelers. It’s easy to navigate, the locals are friendly, and the food is to die for.

If you follow us on YouTube, you know that we traveled to Taiwan for our 2016 winter vacation. Over the course of 10 days, we visited six major cities, ate dozens of food at six different night markets, and took in some of the most popular (including a few not-so-popular) sights like the Taipei Zoo, Elephant Mountain, and the famous Taipei 101 New Years Fireworks Display.

Vlogging our trip was something we did without knowing whether or not the video footage we took would actually be made into live, watchable videos, but once we started creating them, I was so grateful to have our travel memories saved in such a fun and new way. There’s something special about seeing yourself eat those delicious fresh-grilled prawns in Kaohsiung, walking through Taroko Gorge, and taking in the beauty of Yehliu Geopark.

That being said, I am even more excited than before to share with you our next travel series here on Real World Travelers:

Like our vlogs, I plan to share two posts (with the possibility of more) each week about our trip.

This will include posts about what we saw, what we ate, and where we stayed. We’ll talk about our favorite (and not so favorite) things, along with how we created a travel itinerary that brought us through almost the entire country.

This was our first time in Taiwan, and as usual, if there are any recommendations that you would add to any of our lists, feel free to leave them in the comment sections below each post!

Our goal is to not only share our personal experiences & travel advice, but to generate a community where other travelers can share tips for other readers. We have traveled quite a bit, but are by no means experts – there is still much to be learned!

If you haven’t already, be sure to subscribe to our mailing list to receive notifications of new posts, and of course, check us out on all of our social media!
